The innermost area of most of the living floors surrounds the platform tube and its surrounding elevators. The term is also used to reference that direction, as opposed to the outer wall. ("Head to the Inner Circle, I’ll find you there." "I'm at the Inner Circle")
Residential floors augmented this area by surrounding the innermost area with small shops, cafes and kiosks, lining a green area with benches and play equipment for younger children. These areas were popular public spaces.
