Ancient directional terms that are still used in pagan communities.
Deosil derives from both Irish and Scottish Gaelic, meaning right (as in not left) and south (on your right as you face the direction of sunrise). (also known as clockwise).
Widdershins means "against the way" and is used as a directional term for counter-clockwise.
When walking deosil in a circle, move to your right, and when walking widdershins, move to your left.
