A nudge is an action that sets up small and seemingly insignificant events to move humanity along its chosen path; these events can be influenced by the choices made by individuals or large swathes of society as they relate to their collective lives.
Nudges may be noticed or unnoticed and may have been influenced by decisions made in humanity’s distant past. Any choice, large or small, can be consequential. Since we have no way of knowing which of our choices will be consequential in the future, it behooves us to treat them all as if they were.
