The Foundation Board was a leadership board selected by the original founders of the Foundation. It consisted of twenty people, each living in a separate habitat.

Their ultimate mission was to obtain and retain the resources, skills and knowledge necessary for humanity to move forward in the future. To that end, until the nuclear war that brought about the Catastrophe, the Board spent much of its time and resources focused on procuring and storing the supplies and people necessary for the habitats to survive for many hundreds of years.
