Tehya Massy heads NAHE's College of Physical Sciences, personally supervising graduate-level courses. Proudly descended from the Cherokee, her ancestors came from Oklahoma via the Trail of Tears. She holds a PhD in optical physics from the surface school: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, commonly referred to as MIT.
